About

Practical water engineering, from site to strategy.

I am a Senior Water Engineer in Planning and Scheduling (Operations and Maintenance) at EtihadWE, covering desalination, water treatment and distribution across the United Arab Emirates. I plan short and long term maintenance, allocate resources and schedule work in SAP Plant Maintenance, Microsoft Project and Primavera, and set priorities by asset criticality, performance data and risk. Reliability centred maintenance, condition based maintenance, root cause analysis, performance indicators and reporting to senior management are part of the daily job.

After my Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering at Alexandria University, I chose to build my career in water. I started close to the field, operating, maintaining and troubleshooting water and wastewater plants with reverse osmosis, ultrafiltration, membrane bioreactors and other biological processes, and cooling water systems. Over time my curiosity moved from how individual systems work to how a utility keeps thousands of assets reliable and sustainable. Since 2016 I have also trained engineers for the Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP) credential and in water and wastewater engineering.

I research forward osmosis membrane performance and gypsum scaling at the United Arab Emirates University, including micro- and nano-bubbles for scaling control and flux. I am now completing a Master of Business Administration at Edinburgh Business School, because the decisions that shape how a water system performs are made in a language that is part engineering and part economics.

I share what I learn through the Blue Intelligence newsletter on LinkedIn, technical articles, training, conferences and discussions with other water professionals. Stay close to the field. Keep learning. Share what you learn.

Training

Water and wastewater training, online or in person.

Choose a format, then pick the topics that matter to your team. Every programme can be adjusted to your plant, your data and your people.

Online

Live instructor-led

Interactive video sessions with case studies, plant data exercises and open Q and A. Well suited to teams on different sites and to shorter modules.

In person

On site or at a venue

Delivered at your plant, training centre or conference venue in the Gulf Cooperation Council region. Classroom learning combined with plant walk-throughs and troubleshooting workshops.

Customized

Built around your team

Select topics from the catalogue, set the depth and duration together, and use your own process data and operating problems as the case material.

How it works

  1. ChoosePick topics, format and group size in the builder, or simply book a scoping call.
  2. ScopeA short call to understand your plant, your team and the problems you want solved.
  3. ProposalYou receive a clear programme or advisory plan with the agenda and the fee.
  4. DeliveryOnline or on site, built on real plant examples.

Build your programme

Select any topics you want covered. You can refine the list on the scoping call.

Consulting

Paid advisory for the Gulf Cooperation Council water sector.

One-to-one technical sessions for engineers, managers and decision makers who need a second opinion grounded in operating experience.

Desalination operations

Reverse osmosis performance reviews, fouling and scaling diagnosis, cleaning strategy and energy consumption.

Wastewater and reuse

Membrane bioreactor and treated sewage effluent polishing performance, sludge handling and odor monitoring as a plant health indicator.

Maintenance and asset strategy

Preventive maintenance systems, asset condition follow-up, planning and scheduling, and how to make the maintenance plan match the plant.

Performance and key performance indicator frameworks

Key performance indicators and reporting that operations teams will use, and that management can trust.

Efficiency and sustainability

Research into practice

Evaluating membrane innovations such as micro- and nano-bubbles against real operating conditions.

30min

Quick consultation

A focused technical question, a document check or a quick second opinion.

60min

Advisory session

Work through a plant issue, a maintenance strategy or a project decision in depth.

90min

Deep dive review

A structured review of your data, plan or process, with clear next steps.

Consultations are paid. The rate is confirmed with you before a session is held. Times are in Gulf Standard Time (UTC+4).

Common questions

Is the training online or in person?

Both. Online sessions are live, and in person training can take place at your site, a training centre or a conference venue in the Gulf Cooperation Council region. You choose the format in the programme builder.

Can the programme be built around our plant?

Yes. I shape the content around your technologies, your recurring problems and real operating examples, and I can work with your non-confidential operating data.

What group size works best?

Small groups suit troubleshooting and discussion, while larger groups work for fundamentals and certification preparation. We settle it together when we scope the programme.

Which language is the training delivered in?

English or Arabic, with the technical terms kept clear and accurate in both.

How do the paid consultations work?

You pick the session length (30, 60 or 90 minutes) and send me your question in advance so I can prepare. Topics include water, wastewater, desalination and operations and maintenance strategy. After you book, I confirm the fee and payment details by email, and the session is final once payment is arranged.

Do you help with Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional exam preparation?

Yes. I have trained engineers for this credential since 2016, and I hold it myself.

How are fees set, and what about confidentiality?

After the scoping call you receive a clear proposal. Your plant information stays confidential, and you only share what you are comfortable sharing.
